Definition:
Typhoid fever is a systemic infectious disease caused by Salmonella typhi, transmitted primarily through contaminated food and water. It is characterized by prolonged fever, abdominal pain, rose spots on the abdomen, diarrhea or constipation, and toxic appearance. It commonly affects areas with poor sanitation and hygiene.
