Definition 


Definition:

Diarrhoea in children is defined as the passage of three or more loose or watery stools per day, often accompanied by abdominal cramps, dehydration, fever, and loss of appetite. Causes may include viral infections (like rotavirus), bacterial infections, food intolerance, or poor hygiene.

  • Miasm: Sycosis

  • Indications:

    • Profuse, watery, explosive stools with gushing sound, often painless.

    • Stools may be offensive, yellow, and frothy, sometimes mixed with mucus.

    • Accompanied by prostration, vomiting, and gurgling in the abdomen.

  • Modalities:

    • Worse in early morning and during dentition.

    • Better with rest and lying on the abdomen.

  • Therapeutic Sphere:

    • A key remedy for summer diarrhoea or teething diarrhoea in children, especially when stools are profuse and offensive.

2. Chamomilla

  • Miasm: Psoric

  • Indications:

    • Diarrhoea during dentition, with green, slimy, chopped-egg-like stools.

    • Child is irritable, restless, and wants to be carried constantly.

    • One cheek red, the other pale; stool is hot, sour, and offensive.

  • Modalities:

    • Worse during dentition, anger, or at night.

    • Better with warmth and motion (being carried).

  • Therapeutic Sphere:

    • Best suited for infants and young children with teething-related diarrhoea and irritable behavior.
